Set off on a paddle across the breath-taking waters of Lake Rotoiti. Glide gently over the lake as golden hour starts to set in, surrounded by native bush and the calls of birdlife. Your guide will share local history and Māori myths and legends, offering deeper meaning to the land, waters, and stars that surround you.
Your destination is the secluded Manupirua Hot Pools, accessible only by water. Here, as the sun starts to set, you’ll soak in natural geothermal pools, renowned for their soothing warmth, natural minerals and serene setting.
At the lake’s edge enjoy a Gourmet BBQ Dinner “Te Reka o te Aotearoa | The Flavours of New Zealand”, featuring: Barbequed Smoked Regal King Salmon, Wild Game Sausages from Naked Meats Butchers, Mesclun Salad with Tomatoes, Cucumber, Feta & Walnuts, topped with a Barker’s NZ dressing. Finish off with your choice of classic Kiwi ice cream, the perfect sweet treat.
As night falls, take to the water once more. With your paddle strokes mirrored in the still surface, as you journey towards a hidden Glowworm cave. Paddle into the cave assisted by your guide, where thousands of tiny Glowworms create a beautiful light display.
As you exit the cave the lake has been transformed under the stars and as you paddle back, enjoy some stargazing from your kayak, as your guide tells you the stories of the sky as you make your way back to the lakes edge.
